Angelique Shofar has often been described as a multi-talented, diverse, one-of-a-kind African sister.  Born and raised on the West Coast of Africa in Monrovia , Liberia , she grew up in a small family home with her sister and many friends.  During the first seven years, she lived in New York attending primary school in the Bronx . She returned to Liberia at age seven where she lived for the next eleven years of her life. Although she has lived most of her life in the US , she continues to be devoted to her birthplace and nationality as a Liberian.

As a young woman in Monrovia , she lead a dance group and performed locally onstage and on television. Known by her family and friends as “Angel” she was a social butterfly and sought after by many admirers.  After high school she returned to the United States in pursuit of a higher education and remained due to the devastating conditions resulting from war in her homeland.

Angelique’s childhood dream was to someday own a radio station in her country.  That dream led her down a journalism path commencing as a free lance writer for local newspapers and international publications.  Next she explored the visual aspect of journalism through television, and later hosted "African Music Video Box", a cable broadcast based in New York City and aired out of major cities across the US . In 1996, she would walk into the world of radio. Today, she is a talk show host and the executive producer of “Africa Meets Africa”

Angelique Shofar is also Founder of The Spirit of Wellness and a native of West Africa . She is known as “The African Wellness Diva” for her natural healing presence and gifts shared as a Wellness Consultant and Inspirational Speaker and Coach. A certified yoga teacher and massage therapist, her practice focuses on women (pre and post natal), children and couples. Her work style embraces traditional African healing, Native American and Asian therapies with a focus on energy medicine and healing the heart!
