Called from on high, Sonya is an anointed singer, songwriter, and worship leader who, for the past five years, has been developing in her call to the music ministry like never before. As she recalls, “I’ve always loved music. It was a natural inclination growing up with a father who was always singing and playing the guitar.” Unlike many gospel artists who’s roots in the church go deep, Sonya has a different story. “I accepted Christ at a very young age and I even sang in the youth choir. But I did not develop a relationship with Christ until much later in life.” Sonya sang every chance she could get throughout her adolescent years and was a soloist and directress for the gospel choir at her college. After college, Sonya became the lead female vocalist for a Jazz/R&B band based in her hometown, Atlanta, called Soft Notes. This is where Sonya really began to blossom as an artist and discovered that there was much more to her than a pretty voice. It didn’t take long before people all over Atlanta began to recognize that this girl has a gift.
